Job summary

Solventum is hiring an AI/ML Technical Manager to lead a global, multidisciplinary AI/ML team, architect solutions, and partner with product, data science, and platform teams. You will drive end-to-end delivery from framing problems to production deployment, while ensuring governance and responsible AI practices.

The role is remote with up to 10% travel, requiring strong English communication and a proven track record of delivering production AI solutions in fast-moving environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, AI, ML, Data Science or related field and 10 years of related experience.
• 8+ years in AI/ML roles with production AI delivery track record.
• 3+ years managing and developing technical teams; professional English required.
• In-depth foundation in traditional AI/ML techniques and modern AI approaches with LLMs.

As an AI/ML Technical Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary AI/ML technical team, including AI engineers and data engineers, with accountability for hiring, onboarding, career growth, technical skill development, performance coaching, and day-to-day people leadership in a global delivery environment.
• Serve as a hands-on technical leader by architecting, designing, and guiding development of AI/ML solutions from problem framing and feasibility assessment through proof of concept, pilot, production deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Apply traditional machine learning and modern AI techniques, including deep learning, statistical modeling, large language models, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic AI systems, to solve complex, ambiguous, and novel business problems.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, platform teams, business stakeholders, and enterprise architecture to define scope, technical approach, success metrics, deployment requirements, integration needs, and adoption plans for AI-enabled solutions.
• Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable AI systems with rigorous model evaluation practices focused on performance, generalization, robustness, fairness, explainability, data quality, edge cases, human review points, and responsible AI principles.
• Ensure AI solutions align with enterprise documentation, governance, privacy, security, compliance, and regulatory expectations while communicating technical strategy, tradeoffs, risks, milestones, and business outcomes clearly to senior and executive stakeholders.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science or a related technical field AND 10 years of job related experience

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

• 8+ years of experience working in AI/ML roles, with track record of delivering production AI solutions
• 3+ years of experience managing and developing technical teamsProfessional proficiency in English required, with regular collaboration across global teams.
• Strong foundation in traditional AI and machine learning techniques, such as deep learning, decision trees, random forests, optimization techniques and statistical modeling
• Hands on experience with modern AI approaches, including large language models (LLMs) and transformer architectures, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, Agentic AI and autonomous or semi- autonomous AI architectures

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or PhD) in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related field.
• History of launching multiple AI products/programs in parallel, particularly in global or regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, medtech).
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary AI research and development teams that innovate at the forefront of the field.
• Familiarity with cloud-native AI/ML platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and the ability to evaluate and integrate external AI technologies or vendors.
• Success in driving end-to-end process improvements and operational excellence across complex programs.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop diverse technical teams
