Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager II for AI/ML within Google Cloud Compute. You will lead multiple teams across locations to deliver large-scale ML infrastructure and systems while mentoring engineers and guiding product direction.

You will own roadmaps, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and scale technical initiatives from prototype to production in a fast-paced, highly impactful environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 5 years of experience with ML-related areas (speech/audio, RL, ML infra, or related).
• 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Set expectations, provide feedback and coaching to individuals.
• Develop mid-term technical vision and roadmap for teams.
• Design, guide, and vet systems designs; write code to solve problems.
