Job summary

Vector Solutions is seeking an R&D Engineer to advance AI-powered features within our SaaS product suite in Tampa, FL. This is an experienced individual contributor role focused on hands-on execution of AI/ML tasks under senior leadership.

You will build, test, and refine prototypes, write and debug integration code, and support data preparation and model evaluation. The role emphasizes practical coding, collaboration with QA, and staying up-to-date with AI advances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML-related projects.
• Strong programming skills in Python/JavaScript or similar.
• Knowledge of ML frameworks or APIs (OpenAI, HuggingFace, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and refine AI-powered prototypes and features within Vector's SaaS products.
• Write, debug, and maintain code that integrates AI/ML APIs into product workflows.
• Support data preparation and pipeline tasks for training or evaluating models.
• Execute experiments, document results, and summarize findings for review.
• Collaborate with QA to test AI-driven features for accuracy and reliability.
• Monitor deployed AI features and escalate issues as needed.
• Contribute to internal AI workflow documentation and model usage guidelines.
• Participate in code reviews and implement feedback from senior engineers.
• Stay current on emerging AI tools and techniques.
