Job summary

ASM in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a motivated Product Intelligence Engineering Intern to join a team building AI/ML analytics applications for semiconductor manufacturing. You’ll gain hands-on experience with scalable backend systems, telemetry data, and a full software development lifecycle using Go, Python, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, gRPC, Linux, and containerized apps.

As an intern, you’ll contribute to real projects, receive mentorship from senior engineers, and own defined technical deliverables

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in CS/SE/DS or related field.
• Programming experience via coursework, research, or projects.
• Experience with Go and/or Python or willingness to learn.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, APIs, databases, and version control.
• Familiarity with Linux and PostgreSQL is a plus.
• Interest in backend development, distributed systems, or AI/ML.
• Strong problem solving and eagerness to learn new tech.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers and communicate ideas clearly.
• Curiosity and ownership of a meaningful technical project.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, and testing of backend services for AI/ML analytics platform.
• Work on a defined internship project with meaningful deliverables.
• Write clean, reliable, and well-tested code with feedback from engineers.
• Gain hands-on experience with telemetry and manufacturing data.
• Assist with developing APIs, data pipelines, backend services, and app functionality.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Learn how software is developed and deployed in secure manufacturing environments.
• Document approach, testing, and outcomes; present results to the team at the end.
