Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking an AI Engineering Intern for its Boston office. You will design and build backend systems powering AI products and agent solutions, collaborating with product managers, ML engineers and data scientists.

This is a backend-heavy role with opportunities to influence architecture, async pipelines and distributed systems. Interns work on meaningful projects end-to-end, with a strong emphasis on generative and agentic AI.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an advanced degree in CS/AI/ML; expected graduation Dec 2027 or May/Jun 2028.
• Hands-on internship experience in AI/ML or related fields.
• Experience deploying generative AI and agentic AI applications to production.
• Knowledge of orchestration, evaluation, RAG, and safety guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend systems to support scaling AI solutions for 200K+ customers.
• Develop robust, reliable services to serve AI models in production.
• Contribute to advancing our agentic architecture for more self-sufficient AI agents.
• Collaborate with product managers, ML engineers and data scientists to deliver impact.
