Job summary

Google is seeking a software engineer to help build the next generation of host networking and data center infrastructure. You will work on projects spanning AI/ML networking, distributed systems, and high‑scale networking stacks, contributing to production-grade systems on Google Cloud.

You will design, implement, and validate software in C/C++ for high-performance networking tasks, including Smart NICs, and collaborate across teams to push technology forward at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required.
• 2+ years developing AI/ML networking solutions and host-host networking stacks.
• 2+ years software development in C or C++.
• 2+ years developing large-scale infra, distributed systems or networks.
• 1 year working with embedded operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Triage product or system issues and debug/resolve impact on hardware, network, or service operations.
• Design and validate system solutions; evaluate hardware units, prototypes or simulations for Google infrastructure.
• Advance offloads with Google hardware/software; develop and test C++ code for ML library solutions and Smart NICs.
• Develop next-generation AI/ML networking solutions and Smart NICs at Google, from development to production.
