Apple, Inc. is seeking a Performance & Capacity Engineer to join the Infrastructure Services team in the San Francisco Bay Area.

You will build data-driven tools and predictive models to forecast network capacity, analyze telemetry, and deliver actionable insights for Apple’s Core Backbone and Internet Edge. With a focus on AI, data science, and scalable infrastructure, you will craft intuitive dashboards, collaborate with architecture teams, and apply advanced analytics to optimize network

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or data science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in software development, applied data science, or data engineering.
• Experience with mathematical modeling, forecasting, regression or time-series modeling.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling.
• Hands-on experience with relational or non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL).
• Experience developing data visualizations, dashboards, or reporting tools.
• Built and deployed at least one web app end-to-end (e.g., Flask/FastAPI with React, Dash, or Streamlit).

Responsibilities

• Develop mathematical or data-driven models to support capacity planning and routing optimization.
• Run scenario analyses to test network forecast demand and reliability.
• Analyze large telemetry datasets to identify trends and capacity constraints.
• Design dashboards to communicate performance, forecasts, and insights.
• Leverage automation and AI-assisted workflows to enhance forecasting and planning.
• Build scalable data processing pipelines for large-scale telemetry data.
• Apply AI/ML techniques to uncover operational insights and automate anomaly detection.
