Job summary

JPMorgan Chase's Business Banking division seeks a Manager of AI/ML Engineering to lead multiple teams and apply advanced ML to NLP, document screening, and production delivery.

You will guide software engineers, define ML strategy, and collaborate with Business, Technology, Product, Legal, and Compliance to deploy solutions into production while gaining deep knowledge of supported businesses.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in Machine Learning.
• Strong understanding of NLP concepts including transformer models and knowledge distillation.
• Experience with classical ML techniques: classification, clustering, optimization, cross-validation, data wrangling, feature selection/extraction.
• Experience leading technology projects and managing technologists.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and agile practices (CI/CD, resiliency, security).
• Background in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop state-of-the-art ML models for NLP, speech recognition, analytics or recommender systems.
• Define and extend ML strategies for banking problems.
• Guide immediate software engineers on daily tasks and team output.
• Set overall guidance for team output, practices, and collaboration.
• Anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver aligned products.
• Collaborate with Business, Technology, Product, Legal, Compliance, Strategy and Business Management to deploy solutions.
• Learn about supported businesses to drive practical, successful ML solutions.
