Job summary

JPMorgan Chase, a leading global financial institution, seeks an AI/ML Engineering lead in its Business Banking division. You will apply advanced machine learning to complex tasks like NLP and document screening, and define patterns to guide the team's approach.

You will develop state-of-the-art ML models and lead cross-functional teams, driving production-ready solutions while aligning with business requirements and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years ML experience.
• Strong understanding of NLP concepts including transformer architectures and knowledge distillation.
• Experience with classical ML techniques: classification, clustering, optimization, cross-validation, data wrangling, feature selection/extraction.
• Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Scientific thinking with ability to work independently and in collaborative teams.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Proficient across the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong grasp of Agile methods, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Background in CS/Engineering/Math or related fields and tech discipline expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop state-of-the-art ML models for NLP, speech recognition, analytics, or recommender systems.
• Define and extend ML strategies for various banking problems.
• Provide guidance to software engineers on daily tasks and activities.
• Set guidance and expectations for team output, practices and collaboration.
• Anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver aligned solutions.
• Collaborate with Business, Technology, PM, Legal, Compliance, Strategy, and Business Management to productionize solutions.
• Learn about supported businesses to drive practical and successful ML solutions.
