Job summary

Apple, Inc. in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to help shape the design of cutting-edge ASICs within the Digital Design Engineering group.

You will apply ML to circuit analysis, QA, and silicon debugging, and collaborate across teams to bring innovative ideas to life. The role emphasizes applying AI to improve PPA tradeoffs, design efficiency, and delivery quality, with opportunities for relocation and discretionary bonuses.

Qualifications

• MS and a minimum of 3 years of VLSI industry experience.
• Knowledge of digital circuit behavior, PPA tradeoffs, and timing/power/noise modelling.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to improve circuit design, workflow efficiency, and delivery quality.

Responsibilities

• Apply AI/ML techniques to circuit design analysis, characterization, QA, and silicon debug.
• Explore custom circuit design areas and identify AI opportunities.
• Define goals and specs for each initiative and provide end‑to‑end solutions from concept to implementation.
• Benchmark ROI with measurable metrics: design improvements, efficiency, quality, and turnaround time.
