Job summary

SMX is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to support a Federal customer with a Modernized Data Science Platform. The role bridges business needs and technical solutions using modern AI capabilities to accelerate development.

Responsibilities include designing AI Agents, researching Databricks/Palantir capabilities, prompting LLMs, and building chatbots. DoD clearance and a CS degree are required; NJ-based work location. SMX offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of related work experience.
• Clearance: U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into Dev/Ops pipelines.
• Experience with developing Agents using OpenAI LLMs.
• Experience training ML models on live/production data.
• Experience with AI chatbot development for business use.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new AI Agents to meet business requirements.
• Research AI capabilities with Databricks and Palantir for standardization.
• Prompt engineer LLMs for faster analysis and coding.
• Develop chatbots to support developers and customers.
• Train ML models to predict outcomes from historical data.
