Job summary

MORSE Corp, a data science-focused defense contractor, seeks a Data Scientist co-op to develop AI/ML analysis and software in a collaborative, agile setting. You will analyze data, build tools, and create visualizations to inform model development and deployment for DoD customers.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS/BA in a quantitative field with Python skills and an interest in AI/ML, CV, GenAI, and related data types; US citizenship and ability to obtain a clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/BA in CS, data science, engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Strong Python proficiency.
• Interest in AI/ML, computer vision, GenAI, LLMs.
• Experience with statistical analyses and data visualizations.
• Experience with scikit-learn, pandas, numpy is a plus.
• Exposure to Spark, PySpark, Docker, or Docker-compose is a plus.
• Solid understanding of version control systems (Git).
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, manage, and analyze AI data using Python.
• Perform data analysis to understand model performance and metadata impact.
• Create data visualizations to present results and solutions.
• Assist with developing, executing, and testing ML models.
• Design and build analysis/software using Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
