Job summary

Proclinical Group on the East Coast is seeking a Research Scientist specializing in AI/ML for biologics. This contract role focuses on integrating machine learning into therapeutic discovery, including antisense oligonucleotides and antibody design.

You will design and scale ML methods for multiple modalities, curate datasets, and collaborate with experimental teams to validate predictions, while keeping code clean and well documented.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in computational biology, chemistry, ML, or a related field.
• Strong background in oligonucleotide chemistry and antibody design/characterization.
• Proven experience with computational modeling of antibody–antigen interactions; sequence and structure analysis.
• Expertise in probabilistic learning, deep learning models (RNNs, GNNs, Transformers) and generative AI.
• Programming in Python, R, SQL; experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
• Experience building ML models for DNA, RNA, and proteins, including language models and structure prediction.
• Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS), GitHub, and Docker; collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/ML approaches for antibody discovery and protein design workflows.
• Develop scalable ML methods for optimizing antibodies, antigens, ADCs, and other biologics.
• Build predictive models to prioritize ASO designs based on exon-skipping responses.
• Create reproducible computational frameworks: data ingestion, features, training, validation, deployment.
• Curate and harmonize datasets from internal/external sources; define sequence/structure features.
• Establish benchmarks and prospective tests; collaborate with experimental teams to validate predictions.
• Adopt and evaluate tools to improve modeling workflows and decision making.
• Maintain clean, well-documented codebase and provide user guidance.
