Alignerr is seeking a Portuguese language expert to evaluate and improve AI language learning systems. You will shape how AI understands, assesses, and communicates in Portuguese for millions of learners globally.

The role is remote, hourly, with at least 15 hours/week and fully asynchronous scheduling, allowing you to work on your own time while contributing to cutting-edge AI research.

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese.

• Evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text for accuracy and educational quality.

About The Role

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment
• Provide clear, structured feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts
• Contribute to raising the overall quality and reliability of AI language instruction

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese
• Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
• Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology
• Knowledge of regional Portuguese variations (Brazilian, European, etc.)
• Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows
