Job summary

Arizona State University’s Media Relations & Strategic Communications unit seeks a Director of AI Innovation and Communications to lead a department-wide AI strategy, identify high-impact use cases, and advance responsible AI practices across editorial and distribution workflows.

The role requires translating complex technical and policy changes for diverse audiences, training staff, and partnering with Enterprise Technology to scale AI responsibly while maintaining accuracy and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and ten years of experience in the relevant field
• Or an equivalent combination of experience and training

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead department-wide AI communications and innovation strategy
• Identify and prioritize AI use cases across media relations and enterprise teams
• Lead AI-enabled workflows while maintaining editorial standards and accountability
• Build AI fluency and provide training across MRSC teams
• Coordinate with Enterprise Tech and other partners to govern AI adoption
