J. Goldman & Co., L.P. is seeking an AI Implementation Specialist to work with the Head of Data on the firm's AI initiatives.

The role blends hands-on coding with a deep understanding of the investment process, collaborating with Portfolio Managers and Analysts to design AI tools that improve research, idea generation, and idea testing. The ideal candidate has 3+ years supporting investment teams at hedge funds or equity research desks, strong Python/SQL skills, and hands-on Databricks

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with investment professionals at hedge funds, long-only managers, or sell-side desks.
• Strong hands-on Python and SQL coding skills, with Databricks experience.
• Hands-on experience with LLM application patterns, including retrieval, evaluation, tool use, and agentic workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead productive sessions with Portfolio Managers and Analysts.
• Strong judgment on whether a project will meaningfully improve an investment team’s workflow.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Analysts to understand investment processes and identify AI integration opportunities.
• Analyze investment workflows such as research, news ingestion, financial modeling, and portfolio management to surface insights.
• Translate requests into clear product specifications.
• Work with Data team to build, test and release tools using Python, SQL, Databricks, LLM APIs, and MCP connectors.
• Maintain documentation of the AI resource library and train investment teams.
• Prioritize projects based on potential impact and maintain communication with the investment team.
