Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking an AI and informatics researcher to apply data science, machine learning and informatics to design, implement, analyze and report on research, clinical and administrative studies.
The candidate should be pursuing a PhD in a related field, possess strong Python programming skills, and demonstrate initiative, communication and analytical abilities to advance AI validation in pathology. This is a full‑time, temporary appointment through December 2026.
Functions as an artificial intelligence and informatics researcher by applying data science, artificial intelligence and informatics, and machine learning expertise to the design, implementation, analysis, interpretations, and reporting of research, clinical and administrative studies.
Working towards a PhD degree in data science, computer science, mathematics/statistics, informatics, computer engineering, or related field. Research experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science or related field preferred. Must have excellent analytical and problem‑solving expertise, along with exceptional written and oral communication skills. Must be highly motivated, willing to learn, and demonstrate initiative in assigned tasks. Also must possess excellent Python programming skills, strong expertise in literature review, demonstrated experience in experimentation and validation, and a foundational understanding of AI models and their validation in pathology.
