Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to own and drive test strategy for complex AI hardware systems across EVT to production.

You will define test coverage for ICT, FCT, board-level, tray-level, and system-level manufacturing tests, collaborating with hardware design, diagnostic/software, manufacturing, quality, and external integrators to deliver robust, scalable test solutions from development through volume production.

Qualifications

• Must have strong understanding of manufacturing test principles and hardware test development.
• Experience with ICT, functional test, and system-level test processes is favorable.
• Ability to translate engineering requirements into scalable test strategies and scripts.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the manufacturing test strategy for boards, trays, and system-level hardware assemblies across EVT, DVT, PVT, and production ramp.
• Develop and manage test coverage for ICT / structural test FCT / board-level functional test Tray-level functional and integration test System-level manufacturing and bring-up test.
• Partner with electrical engineering, system engineering, and diagnostic/software teams to define test requirements, review scripts, validate failure isolation needs, debug hooks, and production screening strategies.
• Translate engineering requirements into practical, scalable manufacturing test plans that drive yield and readiness for volume production.
