Job summary

DLA Piper’s AI practice is seeking an associate with 2-4 years of experience to support a growing docket of AI-focused advisory, regulatory, litigation, and transactional matters. The role emphasizes regulatory and advisory work and corporate transactions, open to both litigation-focused and strong corporate candidates for a mix of work.

This is a substantive, client-facing role with early responsibility and exposure to cutting-edge AI issues at the intersection of AI, regulation, and business.

Qualifications

• J.D. with strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100/top-tier firm.
• Experience across regulatory/advisory, corporate transactional, or litigation matters.
• Excellent legal writing and analytical skills; ability to produce polished work.
• Admission (or eligibility for admission) in the relevant jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on AI governance, regulatory compliance, and risk including AI transparency and regimes.
• Monitor AI law developments and translate them into practical guidance.
• Support AI-related corporate/technology transactions, including due diligence and drafting agreements.
• Develop subject matter expertise on AI issues in corporate transactional contexts.
• Conduct legal research and draft briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Support fact development, discovery, and case strategy across investigations.
• Build and maintain client relationships across AI, litigation, and corporate teams.
