Qualifications

  • 5+ years in program or project management with governance or risk initiatives.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or maturing governance processes, operating models, or control frameworks.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders across legal, compliance, risk, and/or information security.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication with the ability to distill large amounts of information.
  • High emotional intelligence with ability to build trust and influence.

Dodge & Cox is looking for an AI Governance Program Manager to keep the firm’s cross-functional AI governance work organized, coordinated, and moving. This role sits within the AI Governance pillar, one of four pillars in the firm's AI operating model, with contributing cross-functional members from InfoSec, Legal, Risk, and Compliance, which protects the firm and our clients through proactive management of AI policy and procedures, regulatory alignment, and risk management.Reporting to the AI Governance Pillar lead, this person will be responsible for driving progress across the pillar’s many workstreams: coordinating Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Information Security contributors; tracking deliverables and deadlines; and facilitating the processes that allow the firm to make timely, well-informed, well-documented decisions about AI use so the firm can deepen AI adoption across every function with confidence. This is one of two new roles in the pillar, alongside an AI Information Security Lead, and offers a real opportunity to shape governance processes as the firm's AI operating model matures.Key ResponsibilitiesManage governance workstreams end-to-end: track deliverables, deadlines, dependencies, and risks across the pillar’s policy and risk management initiativesCoordinate governance reviews across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Information Security, and other stakeholders, ensuring outcomes are documented and issues are escalated through appropriate channels;Facilitate the pillar’s decision-making process by preparing clear materials, ensuring the right stakeholders provide input, and driving discussions to resolutionManage the policy-to-deployment review process for new AI tools, integrations, and capabilities in coordination with the Infrastructure pillarFacilitate updates to policies, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks by identifying recurring governance issues and cross-functional decision patternsPrepare governance updates and materials for the AI Steering GroupMaintain project documentation, status reporting, and a clear record of decisionsQualificationsRequired5+ years in program or project management, with experience supporting governance- or risk-oriented initiativesExperience designing, implementing, or maturing governance processes, operating models, or control frameworks.Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders across legal, compliance, risk, and/or information security functionsAbility to navigate ambiguity, identify recurring patterns, and translate complex issues into governance solutions.Exceptional written and verbal communication, including the ability to distill large amounts of information and frame communications for varied audience needsHigh emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability to build trust, influence without authority, facilitate consensus, and drive commitment to outcomesStrong organizational skills and the ability to oversee multiple projects, tasks, and interdependencies effectivelyDemonstrated ability to proactively manage timelines and resources and mitigates risksPreferredExperience in regulated compliance-intensive environment, preferably asset management or financial servicesTechnical familiarity with AI concepts and tools and working knowledge of information security principles, data governance, and common control frameworks sufficient to facilitate informed governance discussions and evaluate whether deliverables meet governance requirements. Note: deep subject matter expertise is not required, as the pillar’s Legal, Compliance, Risk, and InfoSec members provide that depthExposure to AI governance, technology policy, or technology risk managementProgram or project management credentials (e.g., PMP, PgMP)Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to AIRequirements:Dodge & Cox operates in a 4 and 1 Hybrid model. All employees are required to be in their assigned office as noted in the job posting Monday - Thursday each week, with the option to work remotely on Friday. This policy is subject to change.The salary range for this position is $120k - $175k.The listed pay scale denotes only the pay range of the base salary and does not include discretionary bonus compensation, which may make up an important portion of the total remuneration.
