Job summary

Blackbaud is seeking an AI Governance Principal to design, build, and own enterprise governance frameworks, policies, and risk methodologies for responsible AI implementation. You will collaborate with product, engineering, risk, and business teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable controls and oversight.

The role focuses on establishing documentation, monitoring, and metrics to measure governance effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in governance, risk, compliance, or policy.
• Hands-on AI governance and risk program leadership.
• Experience applying NIST AI RMF and knowledge of the EU AI Act.
• Experience building governance programs and writing policies.
• Ability to influence across technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and improve AI governance frameworks and standards.
• Own governance process for AI initiatives from intake to oversight.
• Translate frameworks into clear controls for product and engineering.
• Evaluate AI solutions and ensure controls are designed and implemented.
• Establish documentation, evidence, and monitoring requirements.
• Develop metrics for governance effectiveness and adoption.
• Communicate AI risks and decisions to executives and teams.
• Evolve governance program as AI tech and standards change.
