Western Alliance Bancorporation seeks an AI Forward Principal Engineer I to drive architecture and engineering for Lending/Omni Service Fabric platforms. You will champion AI-forward practices, partner with architecture, product and risk teams, and mentor junior engineers while delivering scalable, compliant solutions.

You will design enterprise APIs on Azure, ensure secure, observable deployments, and guide cross-functional teams through complex decisions to accelerate delivery while upholding

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering or IT development experience in financial services.
• Hands-on cloud native development on Azure with APIs, data integration and full stack solutions.
• Bachelor's degree required; Masters or MBA preferred.
• Previous technical leadership or lead engineer experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise APIs with security, versioning and observability.
• Guide architecture and engineering decisions for Lending and Loan Operations.
• Review designs, code and delivery plans to ensure performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, risk and business sponsors to translate requirements.
• Mentor engineers and promote AI-forward, cloud-first engineering practices.
• Lead Platform Ops to support incidents, changes and compliance activities.
