Western Alliance Bank is seeking an AI Forward Principal Engineer I to lead high-impact cloud‑native engineering efforts for Lending and Loan Operations. You will partner with architecture, product, and business stakeholders to define solution strategies, champion AI-forward engineering practices, and drive complex designs with reusable platform components.

You will mentor junior engineers, review designs and code, and own portions of end-to-end technical solution design while ensuring security,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's or MBA preferred.
• 8+ years of related experience in software engineering or IT for financial platforms.
• Hands-on cloud-native design on Azure, including APIs and data integrations.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and complex projects.
• Strong understanding of banking/regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME technical leadership across Lending and Loan Ops initiatives.
• Define solution strategies with architecture, product, and business stakeholders.
• Design, build, and maintain enterprise APIs with Azure API Management.
• Review designs, code, and delivery plans to ensure performance and compliance.
• Mentor engineers and promote AI-forward, cloud-first engineering practices.
