Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking an Information Services Team Software Engineer Intern in Pullman, WA.

The role supports AI initiatives, software development, and collaboration with internal teams and vendors during the summer and part-time during the school year. The intern will gain hands-on experience with AI technologies, Microsoft platforms, and data integration while contributing to real projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in MIS, computer science, information systems, data analytics, or cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to all audiences.
• Experience with programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, Python, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Champion for appropriate AI usage at SEL and educate others.
• Document best practices that can be shared with others.
• Explore AI and data integration with Microsoft tools and platforms.
• Learn to configure and deploy M365 agents and MCP servers.
• Collaborate with internal customers and vendors to understand requirements.
