Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack (Card Experiences) to work remotely in the United States. You will influence technical strategy for a year, collaborate across product, design, analytics, and risk teams, and own end-to-end features in a high-trust environment focused on speed and quality.

AI is central to how we build and ship impactful experiences. You will lead backend systems and web/mobile fronts using Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Spark, Kubernetes, and modern UI

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience building full stack web/mobile experiences and backend services.
• Proficient with declarative UI frameworks (React, React Native, Vue).
• Experience delivering major features with a technical execution plan and high quality code.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate with product, design, analytics to ensure sustainability and manage risks.
• Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations and availability including monitoring, playbooks, testing, and on-call readiness.
• Establish coding standards and drive quality across teams.
• Mentor teammates and lead by example.
