Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a global engineering team building AI-first tools for the CLP platforms. You will partner with product, design, and executives to shape technical strategy and delivery while focusing on quality, accessibility, and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
2+ years of technology leadership experience, including global teams.
Hands-on experience with Java and React (5+ years).
Familiarity with GenAI concepts and tools.
Experience with agile delivery and tooling like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team.
Define AI-first roadmap focusing on quality and accessibility.
Collaborate with product and design per POM as technical lead.
Drive customer engagements to derive end-user solutions.
Track quality and efficiency with SDLC tools and report to executives.
Balance technical debt with new feature work each sprint.
Manage backlogs, estimates, and budgets with partners and customers.
Stay ahead of emerging technologies to drive product innovation.
