Job summary

At Atlassian is seeking a Product Design Intern for a 12-week paid program in Summer 2027, based in the Pacific Time Zone. You will work with designers, product managers, and engineers to tackle real design challenges across our AI-enabled tools like Jira and Confluence.

You'll learn to understand customer problems, prototype, and test ideas, contributing to design systems and scalable experiences in a collaborative, global team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with user-focused design.
• Demonstrate the ability to plan while juggling multiple simultaneous projects.
• Experience collaborating with engineers, product managers and other designers.

Responsibilities

• Apply strong interaction, visual, and systems-design craft to turn ambiguous customer problems into simple, accessible product experiences across Atlassian products.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and senior designers to understand customer needs, evaluate technical constraints, and make informed design decisions.
• Use research insights, product data, technical prototyping and usability testing to explore assumptions, iterate quickly and improve the quality of shipped experiences.
• Contribute to design systems, patterns and documentation while learning how AI and connected teamwork shape modern collaboration at scale.
