Job summary

Amazon's Ring RBKS Platform Ops group is hiring a Software Development Engineer II to build and operate backend services and automation that scale AI-powered tools for internal engineering teams. You will own end-to-end components, design scalable architectures, and drive automation to reduce toil across MCP servers, agent workflows, and production systems.

You will work on an AI-first culture, contribute to on‑call reliability, and collaborate with multiple teams to ship production code

Qualifications

3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
1+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Experience building internal tools, platforms, or infrastructure used by other engineers.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate backend services and platform components used by engineering teams across RBKS.
Build MCP servers and agent workflows that automate operational work and connect AI tooling to production systems.
Own large components end to end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
Identify repetitive tasks and processes and build automation into your day-to-day work.
Prototype new technology, evaluate feasibility, and drive best practices and engineering excellence.
Participate in the team's on‑call rotation and improve the systems behind recurring issues.
