Job summary

Vertex, Inc. seeks a Senior Principal Product Manager to lead the AI-powered Audit workflows for Indirect Tax. You will define the AI-first vision, own the roadmap, and deliver a scalable product that helps tax professionals triage, gather evidence, interpret, and respond to audits.

You will set product strategy across model training, evaluations, and user-centric automation. You will collaborate with UX, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure trust, accuracy, and adoption, while balancing rapid

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with tax audit management and notice response workflows; familiarity with what auditors ask and how to assemble evidence.
Strong customer-facing skills with ability to translate pain points into product decisions.
Experience using cloud-based tools and platforms to gather, organize, and manage audit evidence.
Proven Product management experience with strategy, roadmap, requirements and backlog prioritization.
Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Consulting.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end product development lifecycle from discovery to delivery for AI-first audit workflows.
Define features with clear requirements and acceptance criteria aligned to compliance.
Collaborate with UX to build human-in-the-loop interfaces for audit professionals.
