Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking an AI Architect to design AI-native architectures for enterprise-scale solutions, including RAG, assistants, and agentic workflows.

You will define orchestration, tool integration, and guardrails, shaping what the system should do and what it should not, with a focus on governance and measurable outcomes. You will work within EPAM's AI architecture practice, collaborating with delivery teams and presales, and you will prototype as needed to evidence decisions while

Qualifications

• Architected AI-native systems in production (RAG, assistants, agents) with model-centric responsibility.
• Proven track record as solution/software/enterprise architect with AI-driven design focus in past year.
• Delivery accountability for systems that shipped, ran, and were maintained.
• Deep experience in distributed, cloud, and data-flow architectures at scale.
• Able to navigate ambiguity and surface trade-offs explicitly.
• Experience presenting options, costs, and risks to non-technical decision makers.
• Documented architectural decisions and reference architectures for reuse.
• Recent hands-on coding to prototype and verify constraints.
• Understanding AI-assisted development and how it changes an architect's role.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectures for AI-native solutions including orchestration, retrieval, tool integration, and guardrails.
• Tailor solutions to business scope and explain what is left out and why.
• Convert conflicting requirements into explicit business decisions with ownership.
• Document architectural trade-offs for future teams to trust.
• Define evaluation strategies to ensure alignment with business scope.
• Write and revise architecture guidelines and fitness functions for teams.
• Determine when humans stay in the loop for regulatory or data-of-record decisions.
• Collaborate with EPAM delivery teams and presales to shape proposals and review designs.
• Build PoCs and references only when evidence is needed.
• Contribute to EPAM's AI architecture practice with reusable patterns and mentoring.
