Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to create and review K-12 assessment content for state and district clients. You will work as both content expert and assessment designer within the Asset Creation team, aligning with standards and accessibility needs.

You will leverage AI tools to enhance content quality, collaborate with psychometricians and other Pearson groups, and help train writers to deliver high-impact items across grades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience required.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Some experience in large-scale, educational measurement preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items, including multiple choice, technology enhanced, extended response, cluster sets, performance-based tasks, and simulations across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and other ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support the development, review, and enhancement of assessment content, ensuring outputs meet quality and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows, providing feedback using content and educational expertise.
• Help select, assign, manage, and train item/passage writers and educators to develop items based on standards, cognitive complexity, and item development best practices.
