Job summary

Next Chapter Technology seeks a Head of AI Engineering to lead the AI-first modernization of the CaseWorks platform. You will personally design and build the initial AI capabilities, including RAG, code generation, and multi-agent workflows, delivering measurable value before expanding the team.

This role requires extensive hands-on engineering leadership, a proven AI/ML shipping record, and the ability to guide architecture while ensuring HIPAA/CJIS compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering.
• Documented history shipping AI/ML systems end-to-end.
• Founding or first AI engineer experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build NCT's AI-driven capabilities (RAG, code generation, multi-agent workflows).
• Refactor legacy components into scalable cloud-native services and automate workflows.
• Deliver outcomes, mentor engineers, and scale the AI-native team.
• Ensure safe, compliant execution within government-adjacent frameworks.
