Emerson is seeking a student co-op to embed with engineering teams, observe workflows, and identify AI automation opportunities. You will design and prototype AI agents to assist with design reviews, test analysis, and documentation generation, while building feedback loops to measure impact.

The role emphasizes translating engineering processes into AI-ready specs, documenting results, and enabling scalable solutions through hands-on collaboration and mentoring within Emerson's co-op program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a technical degree (CS/SE/EE or related).
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agent frameworks.
• Strong curiosity to translate engineering workflows into software solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to interview experts and present findings.

Responsibilities

• Embed with engineering teams to observe and document workflows from requirements through release.
• Partner with engineers and SMEs to identify AI automation opportunities.
• Design, prototype, and deploy AI agents and workflow automations for engineering tasks.
• Build feedback loops: collect input, measure impact, and iterate on solutions.
• Translate complex engineering processes into clear AI-ready specifications.
• Document solutions, findings, and recommendations for handoff and scaling.
