Job summary

Jobtailor in Illinois seeks an AI/ML Engineer to develop, deploy, and maintain AI-driven solutions for pharmaceutical packaging. You will partner with operations, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure compliant, scalable models across MES and data lake data.

You will design predictive maintenance, build dashboards, and create data pipelines while applying statistical methods to identify root causes of rejects and downtime. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, ML, or related field.
• Up to 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML models in production.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages for AI/ML development.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn.
• Knowledge of computer vision, time-series analysis, or predictive modelling techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for deployment and scaling.
• Understanding of IoT, MES, or ERP systems integration.
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL, and big data tools (Hadoop, Spark).
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to travel and lead teams by influence.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain AI-driven solutions for pharma packaging operations.
• Collaborate with operations, QA, and regulatory teams to integrate AI technologies.
• Design and deploy AI/ML algorithms to mine MES and data lake data.
• Build dashboards and reporting tools for actionable insights.
• Develop data pipelines that integrate and normalize data across packaging lines.
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to identify root causes of rejects and downtime.
• Develop predictive maintenance algorithms to forecast failures.
• Support equipment/OT vendors in configuring AI/ML modules.
• Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with standards.
• Monitor, retrain, and document deployed models for accuracy.
