Job summary

VOLO Health, a Jupiter, FL-based healthcare technology company, seeks an AI Engineer to design and deliver LLM-powered solutions and AI-driven features. You will embed with users, craft prompts, and build end-to-end architectures that balance rigor with real-world needs.

You will lead validation, deployment, and monitoring of AI systems, while mentoring teammates and ensuring security against prompt injection and hallucinations. Hybrid on-site work in Jupiter, FL is available.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software engineering with production LLM experience.
• 3–5 years of professional software development using Python, C#, TypeScript, or Node.js (Python preferred).
• Hands-on LLM integration experience: prompt engineering and context management.
• Experience building agentic AI systems with tool use, multi-step reasoning, safety constraints.
• Experience with RAG pipelines: embeddings, chunking, vector databases.
• Awareness of LLM security risks and mitigation strategies.
• Experience collaborating with users to understand needs and iterate on solutions.

Responsibilities

• Embed with internal users to understand workflows and deliver AI-powered solutions.
• Engineer prompts, context, and system architecture for LLMs.
• Build validation pipelines and evaluation benchmarks for LLM outputs.
• Build and maintain RAG pipelines and LLM-powered data workflows.
• Develop cloud-native solutions on AWS (Lambda, S3, ECS, SageMaker, Step Functions).
• Translate user feedback into production direction and influence roadmap.
• Mentor others on AI technologies and best practices.
• Identify edge cases and mitigate LLM hallucinations.
• Design reliable LLM integrations: error handling, retries, circuit breakers.
