Job summary

Hex is seeking an AI Engineer Intern to help build the next generation of AI-powered data tooling. You will work across the research process, identifying problems, designing experiments, evaluating results, and deploying in production.

You will collaborate with AI engineers, software engineers, PMs, and customers to deliver impactful features. This role offers mentorship from experienced engineers and a chance to ship real features in a fast-paced environment focused on data and natural language

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with graduation planned for 2027/2028.
Experience in AI research, applied AI, or ML, including substantial generative AI or transformer projects.
Interest in building delightful product experiences backed by advanced tech and pushing agents' capabilities.

Responsibilities

Build and run real research experiments using modern and classical AI/ML techniques.
Collaborate with product engineers to deliver AI-powered capabilities.
Contribute to research infrastructure, including evals, training pipelines, and production monitoring.
Solve practical engineering challenges like data modeling and API design.
Participate in the full development lifecycle from ideation to launch.
