Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and deploy the ISDP graph layer on a Google Cloud Platform-native stack. You will also operate an MCP server exposing the graph and event store, enabling grounded, non-hallucinated agent responses through GQL queries and embeddings.

The role requires 5+ years in Java and Python, 3+ years in GCP-native data/AI production deployments, and hands-on work with Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow, and graph tech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of strong software engineering in Java and Python with production-grade testing and CI/CD.
• 3+ years deploying data/AI systems on a GCP-native stack including Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow/Beam, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run/GKE, Storage, Build/Artifact Registry.
• 3+ years graph data modeling and querying with GQL, Neo4j or Spanner Graph.
• 2+ years building LLM/agent systems with tool-use, grounding, and MCP-like protocols.
• Observability expertise with Cloud Monitoring/Logging and OpenTelemetry; SLOs and dashboards.
• 3+ years Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and secure-by-default IAM and secrets.
• Ability to work with data producers to model real-world industrial data.

Responsibilities

• Own the graph layer end-to-end from design to Production on a GCP-native stack.
• Develop the MCP server exposing the graph and event store to consumers.
• Model and evolve graph entities as new data sources are onboarded.
• Build and operate tooling contracts, guardrails, and guardrails for grounded agent responses.
• Ensure low-latency, secure, and cost-efficient serving for interactive and batch workloads.
• Own monitoring, observability, dashboards, alerts, and incident response for reliability.
