Job summary

SkillStorm offers a fast on-ramp to AI engineering as a Forward Deployed Engineer. You will complete six weeks of paid AI training and certification, then deploy to Fortune 100 and federal clients. The role pays $95,000–$120,000 in the first year with full benefits and a clear path toward $170K+ as you deploy and certify.

U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates with a Secret clearance place near the front of the line.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one of Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/Node.js; framework experience is a plus.
• Experience building or consuming REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
• Able to work hybrid on-site in Tysons Corner, VA or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• After six weeks of paid, AI engineering training, deploy to government and enterprise clients.
• Build and deploy agentic AI applications inside the client's cloud environment.
• Own delivery of a client-facing capability end to end—from problem framing through deployment and handoff.
• Work embedded with client engineers and stakeholders in their environment and tooling.
• Translate ambiguous business needs into scoped specifications and defensible architecture.
• Apply AI-assisted development tooling to accelerate delivery and build AI-enabled capabilities.
• Set patterns and coding standards for other engineers; provide documentation for stakeholders.
