What You Will Do

The Cybersecurity Technical Staff will join the innovative Cloud Services group at LANL, focusing on developing and managing Microsoft 365 and Azure services. Responsibilities include developing compliance policies, managing data requests, identifying vulnerabilities, performing cyber analysis, and coordinating with cybersecurity teams across LANL and the Department of Energy. The role involves supporting services like Power Platform, SharePoint, Copilot Chat, and Azure AI, ensuring security and governance policies align with new AI technologies, and supporting customers, technical staff, and executives.

Position Levels and Responsibilities

Cybersecurity Technical Staff 2 ($94,500 - $154,600)

Primarily working on Microsoft 365 technologies such as SharePoint Online and OneDrive, focusing on tools provided by Copilot and Defender to prepare cloud environments for AI integration. Responsibilities include establishing data management foundations, tracking, retention, marking, and compliance within the M365 environment.

Cybersecurity Technical Staff 3 ($114,700 - $191,200)

In addition to the above, responsibilities include:

• Developing data loss policies in coordination with enterprise solutions.
• Supporting modernization of data management using M365 tools.
• Creating user training, support documentation, and office hours for AI within M365.
• Researching future Copilot services.
• Managing data duties related to M365 and Azure products, including vulnerability mitigation, tool evaluation, audits, incident responses, automation of standards, and reporting.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Purview and Defender or similar software.
• Understanding of governance and AI/ML/data management applications.
• Knowledge of ZeroTrust principles for cloud management.
• Experience creating training sites, documentation, and communication plans.

Additional Requirements for Level 3

• Experience with SharePoint Online or OneDrive.
• Experience deploying AI/ML tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Data Management and licensing models.

Qualifications & Education

Lower level: Bachelor’s degree + 5 years’ experience or equivalent; postgraduate work may be required.

Higher level: Bachelor’s degree + 8 years’ experience or equivalent; postgraduate work may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SharePoint Advanced Management licensing.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies like Power Platform and Copilot.

Additional Details

Location may be remote with periodic onsite work in Los Alamos, NM. The position requires a Q clearance, U.S. citizenship, and compliance with federal employment and drug testing policies. The position is subject to background checks and security clearances.
