Job summary

Prophet's MAIA platform seeks an AI Engineer to own experiments end to end, build and test agents, benchmark model performance, and ship client-facing AI applications on the platform.

You'll work at the intersection of technical and non-technical worlds, bridging engineers with consultants and designers, and contribute to platform development, data workflows, and performance analysis. Prophet has a hybrid working model that requires office presence 3+ days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 2–3 years building AI/ML apps, data pipelines, or software systems.
• Strong Python and SQL with Git workflows.
• Hands-on experience with LLM apps (RAG, embeddings, retrieval tuning) and agent frameworks.
• Practical ML with PyTorch or scikit-learn; Pandas/NumPy data work.
• Ability to ship full-stack apps (Flask/FastAPI + React) deployed on modern platforms.
• Experience benchmarking accuracy, cost, and latency.
• Exposure to containers and cloud (Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Strong analytical thinking and communication for cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and run experiments to validate new agent capabilities and translate results into go/no-go decisions.
• Draft agent specs with data flows and prompts; drive prompt engineering and testing cycles.
• Assess platform approaches and document tradeoffs in cost, speed, accuracy, and maintainability.
• Build and ship client-facing applications on MAIA across front-end and back-end; write production-quality code.
• Track product and system metrics and synthesize findings for leadership.
• Stay updated on LLMs and agent frameworks to surface improvements.
