Job summary

Univio is seeking an experienced backend engineer to develop AI-driven tools and APIs, focusing on AI agents, workflows, and LLM integrations. You will build AI-powered backend systems, connect Jira/SharePoint/Power BI, and manage Docker-based development environments.

You will collaborate on deployments, CI/CD, and Kubernetes, while monitoring model usage, costs, and performance. Strong emphasis on security and cost optimization applies across projects.

Qualifications

• Experience developing backend solutions and API integrations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain tools based on AI agents, workspaces, prompts, and pipelines.
• Integrate applications with LLM models and build an AI gateway / proxy / broker.
• Develop backend AI apps handling import, indexing, and processing of documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, Markdown).
• Build integrations with Jira, SharePoint, Power BI, Grafana, n8n, and databases.
• Prepare and maintain Docker-based dev environments and isolated workspaces.
• Collaborate on deployments, config, CI/CD, and Kubernetes environments.
• Monitor AI model usage: tokens, costs, requests, metrics; expand Grafana dashboards.
• Test new AI models (open-source included) for quality, costs, and deployment potential.
• Optimize AI costs via caching, proxies, prompt compression, and token best practices.
• Refactor code, perform code reviews, fix bugs, and organize repositories.
• Co-create and document AI usage standards and best practices for the team.

• Experience in developing backend solutions and integrating systems via APIs.

• Ability to design and develop solutions based on AI agents, task automation, agent pipelines, or similar mechanisms.
• Knowledge of Docker / Docker Compose and the ability to prepare local or isolated development environments.
• Experience working with Git, code reviews, conflict resolution, refactoring, and maintaining code quality.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues in applications, logs, integrations, databases, and runtime environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD, containerization, and working with testing and production environments.
• Strong collaboration skills when working with development teams, DevOps, analysts, and business stakeholders.

Duties / Your Role

• Developing and maintaining tools based on AI agents, workspaces, prompt configurations, and agent pipelines.
• Integrating applications with LLM models and developing an intermediary layer such as an AI Gateway / proxy / broker.
• Developing the backend of AI applications, including handling the import, indexing, and processing of documents such as PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, and Markdown.
• Building integrations with company tools such as Jira, SharePoint, Power BI, Grafana, n8n, and databases.
• Preparing and maintaining development environments based on Docker, Docker Compose, containers, and isolated workspaces.
• Collaborating on deployments, application configuration, CI/CD processes, and Kubernetes environments.
• Monitoring the usage of AI models: tokens, costs, requests, metrics, and expanding dashboards in Grafana.
• Testing new AI models, including open-source models, and evaluating their quality, costs, and deployment potential.
• Optimizing the costs of using AI through caching, proxies, prompt compression, and best practices for token usage.
• Refactoring code, conducting code reviews, fixing bugs, and organizing repositories.
• Co-creating and implementing standards for using AI in projects and documenting best practices for the team.

Nice / To Have

• Knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with tools such as n8n, Grafana, Power BI, Jira, and SharePoint.
• Experience working with AI agents, tools such as Harness, agent frameworks, or developer workflow automation.
• Experience with open-source models and running them locally or in the cloud.
• Understanding of topics related to optimizing infrastructure costs and token usage.
• Experience with RAG systems, semantic search, knowledge bases, or document processing.
• Experience working on projects requiring compliance, audits, or high security standards.
