Job summary

Beacon Hill in San Diego, CA, is seeking an AI engineer to design and develop intelligent agents and autonomous systems. You will build cloud-native AI frameworks and GenAI solutions from concept to production, collaborating with researchers, product teams and software engineers.

The role requires 2+ years in AI/engineering, strong Python, and experience with RAG, vector databases, LLM integration, and cloud deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP). Hybrid work with 3 onsite days and 2 remote days is offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of AI/backend experience in engineering or AI infra.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Experience building AI/LLM apps, agents or automation workflows.
• Hands-on with RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, LLM integration, AI tooling & orchestration.
• Experience building backend APIs and cloud-native apps.
• Familiar with AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern deployment practices.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop intelligent AI agents and autonomous systems.
• Build scalable, cloud-native AI frameworks and services.
• Develop GenAI and agentic AI solutions from concept through production deployment.
• Partner with AI researchers, product teams, and software engineers to deliver enterprise AI capabilities.
• Create foundational components that enable reasoning, planning, memory, automation, and orchestration within AI systems.
• Contribute to cutting-edge AI initiatives focused on intelligent automation and business transformation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in AI engineering, backend development, software engineering, or AI infrastructure.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Experience building AI/LLM applications, agents, or automation workflows.
• Hands-on experience with:
• RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)
• Vector databases
• Prompt engineering
• LLM integration
• AI tooling and orchestration frameworks
• Experience building backend APIs and cloud-native applications.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containers, CI/CD, and modern software deployment practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI agents and agent-based architectures.
• Knowledge of MCP servers, graph-based memory, NLP frameworks, and AI observability.
• Experience designing agent capabilities such as memory management, context handling, identity, and governance.
• Exposure to Java, Go, or C++.
• Experience with distributed systems and large-scale production environments.
