Job summary

The Carrera Agency seeks an AI Engineer to design and build autonomous AI systems for enterprise-scale agentic technology. You will help create scalable, secure, cloud-native frameworks enabling AI agents to reason, plan, act, and collaborate in production environments.

You will work with AI researchers, platform teams, and product leadership to bring advanced capabilities from concept to production, delivering measurable business outcomes for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software architecture, backend development, or AI infrastructure.
• Strong Python skills with familiarity in Java, Go, and C++.
• Deep expertise in agent development, LLM integration, prompt engineering, runtime systems, and AI tooling.
• Experience with MCP servers, vector databases, RAG systems, graph-based memory, and NLP frameworks.
• Ability to design core agentic capabilities such as memory management, context handling, observability, and identity.

• Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid – 3 days on-site, 2 days remote)
• Compensation: Starting at $40 per hour (W2 Only, No C2C) plus benefits (Flexible depending on experience)

• Ability to partner effectively with product leaders, architects, and platform teams to define enterprise-grade AI capabilities.
• Strong technical expertise in intelligent automation, generative AI, and agentic system design.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
