Job summary

Apexon is seeking an experienced AI Engineer in Charlotte to design and deploy enterprise GenAI solutions. You will primarily contribute as a hands-on engineer (70%) while providing technical leadership (30%) to engineering teams.

You will build Generative AI, RAG, and AI Agent solutions, work with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and AWS Bedrock, and develop scalable Python/FastAPI backends. The role emphasizes cloud-native MLOps and architecture.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years AI/ML/Generative AI experience.
• Production experience with RAG and AI Agents.
• Experience with LangChain / LangGraph, AWS / AWS Bedrock / SageMaker.
• Strong experience with FastAPI, REST APIs, and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production-scale Generative AI, RAG, and AI Agent solutions.
• Build LLM-powered applications using OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, and AWS Bedrock.
• Develop scalable APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Build cloud-native AI applications and MLOps/CI/CD pipelines on AWS.
• Work with LangChain, LangGraph, semantic search, and prompt engineering.
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Implement infrastructure using Terraform / CloudFormation.
• Provide architectural guidance, conduct design reviews, and mentor engineers.

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to build and deploy enterprise-grade AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI solutions.

This is a highly hands‑on role with approximately 70% Individual Contributor and 30% Technical Leadership, ideal for someone who can take AI solutions from concept to production while also providing technical guidance to engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop production-scale Generative AI, RAG, and AI Agent solutions
• Build LLM-powered applications using OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, and AWS Bedrock
• Develop scalable APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Build cloud-native AI applications and MLOps/CI/CD pipelines on AWS
• Work with LangChain, LangGraph, semantic search, and prompt engineering
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
• Implement infrastructure using Terraform / CloudFormation
