Duke University’s Office of Information Technology, Research Computing, is seeking a Senior Analyst IT, Research Computing - AI Engagement Specialist in Durham. You will partner with researchers to advance AI adoption, translate objectives into AI-enabled workflows, and develop AI services with HPC and cloud integrations.

Join a multidisciplinary team to build reusable tools, produce documentation, and guide responsible AI use in research.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, scientific, computational, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in programming and analysis using Python, MATLAB, R, C, or C++, with experience supporting computational research workflows.
• Experience working in high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
• Familiarity with a broad range of AI/ML tools and methods, including model training/inference and practical research applications.
• Familiarity with IT service development and security best practices for enterprise services.

Aufgaben

• Provide one-on-one consultations and embedded AI support to help research groups adopt AI-enabled workflows.
• Help researchers use, adapt, and build with AI tools, including LLMs, copilots, APIs, notebooks, MCP integrations, and emerging AI tech.
• Translate research objectives into practical AI-assisted workflows using HPC, cloud services, and data platforms.
• Collaborate with Research Computing and AI engineering teams to develop, improve, secure, and support AI services, datasets, and utilities.
• Create clear, accessible documentation, tutorials, and example workflows to support AI adoption across disciplines.
• Contribute to institutional guidance on responsible and effective AI use in research, including reproducibility and data handling.
