Job description

If you are passionate about your career and are looking for a long-term place to grow, then we want to meet you. GEMRT is a growing public accounting firm based out of Coral Gables and is looking for career-minded professionals ready to help shape the future of how our firm works. Our formula is simple: great people + engaging work + compelling leadership = a fantastic place to work.

We are creating a brand-new role for someone who is passionate about AI and excited to put it to work solving real problems. We have been growing over the last few years and are now a firm of about 85+ people, so there is enormous opportunity to make an impact across every corner of the firm. As our first AI Enablement Lead, you'll be the person our teams call when they have an AI need. This role will help turn AI from something people are curious about into something that measurably improves our work, our client service, and our teammates' day-to-day.

This is a hands-on, build-from-scratch role that sits at the intersection of builder, educator, and trusted advisor. There's no team beneath you for now, so you'll wear every hat while partnering closely with leadership, IT, and team leads across the firm. There is definitely potential for growth in this role as this is a new department and initiative of the firm.

THE SKILL SET
  • 5+ years in public accounting, professional services, or a similarly complex, client-focused environment
  • Hands-on experience building with generative AI tools over the past year or two with a track record of turning that work into real, measurable impact. (We know this technology is new; we're looking for an early adopter or quick learner)
  • Experience with prompting, low-code agents, and rapid prototyping.
  • Comfort integrating AI into everyday tools and systems, including familiarity with platforms like Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or OpenAI, and with modern integration patterns (e.g. APIs, MCP).
  • Proven ability to design and deliver training and drive adoption of new technology with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, practical language that any teammate can act on.
  • Exceptional communication and presence, with a demonstrated ability to build trust and represent new ideas well to firm leadership and staff alike.
  • A strong sense of ownership and comfort operating as a team of one. Self-directed, resourceful, and able to carry an initiative from strategy through execution.
  • Sound judgment around responsible, secure, and ethical use of AI, especially with confidential client information.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Team player, client focused, and quality in detailed work.
WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LL
  • Complete new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Complete introductory training and familiarize yourself with how the firm works day to day.
  • Begin learning our core systems and tools, including our tax and accounting software (e.g. CCH Axcess, CCH Engagement), document management, and CRM.
  • Begin growing your internal network by meeting with Supervisors, Managers, and Partners across departments.
  • Being listening and learning from teams to understand their workflows, pain points, and where time is being lost to repetitive work.
  • Begin cataloging early AI and automation opportunities as you hear them.
WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU'LL
  • Turn your discovery work into a prioritized backlog of AI opportunities, with clear problem statements, success metrics, and rough ROI hypotheses.
  • Launch your first hands-on pilots: building or configuring AI tools, agents, or workflows against the highest-value opportunities.
  • Set quality, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop standards.
  • Deliver your first workshops, demos, and lunch-and-learns to raise AI literacy and build momentum across teams.
  • Partner with IT and leadership to establish responsible-use guardrails and help staff understand the difference between public, internal, and confidential data.
  • Complete your 30-60-90 Day onboarding plan.
  • Have two Quarterly Conversations with your leader.
WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU'LL
  • Move proven pilots into everyday use to embed AI into the workflows where it delivers the most value.
  • Build a library of prompts, quick-reference guides, and reusable playbooks.
  • Capture real GEMRT success stories to drive adoption through social proof.
  • Serve as the firm's go-to resource for AI questions, hesitations, and safe-use guidance.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities where AI can improve client-facing work and outcomes.
  • Track and report usage, adoption, quality, and business impact to leadership.
  • Help shape the firm's longer-term AI governance, acceptable-use standards, and roadmap as the capability matures.
Once fully onboarded, here are a list of this role's full set of responsibilities:
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows using AI and automation.
  • Implement GenAI/LLM tools, assistants, and automated workflows.
  • Train partners and staff on ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, prompting, and other AI tools.
  • Develop practical AI training, workshops, and internal resources.
  • Partner with departments to identify AI and automation opportunities.
  • Help establish responsible AI, security, and confidentiality practices.
  • Evaluate new AI technologies and recommend solutions for the firm.
AT GEMRT YOU WILL ENJOY

  • New business commission
  • 15 days PTO plus 10 additional firm holidays (including the last week of the year)
  • Health insurance mostly covered by GEMRT
  • Dental and Vision insurance are available

  • Gap insurance and Aflac
  • 401(k) with matching contributions from GEMRT

COMPENSATION

Let's figure out the right compensation together. This is a new role in an emerging and fast-changing field, and we're approaching compensation with the same open, learning mindset we bring to everything else. We're committed to paying competitively for the right person — whether that's through base salary, milestone-based bonuses tied to real impact, or a combination — and we're genuinely open to hearing what the market looks like from your seat.

THE GEMRT WAY

We abide by a set of five Core Values values, the source of our culture and our growth as a firm. We hope that you find them as compelling as we do!

First and foremost, WE CARE about our team, our clients, and our community. People are our priority, so we’re big on building relationships within the firm and in the community at large. Caring for others fosters an attitude of service and of empathy, so we don’t ask others to do what we can’t do ourselves and always work to anticipate their needs. Finally, the key to any successful relationship is good communication, so we focus on seeking understanding by listening before speaking.

One of the things that drives us most deeply is “wowing” our clients. That’s why CREATE RAVING FANS is a core value. For us, this means being resourceful and passionately finding ways over, around, or through barriers to success—always looking for a solution. Challenges are like fuel for us: they energize us to always add value. Another way we understand this value is through the lens of generosity. Giving freely of our time, talents, and treasure, we’re able to create opportunities for our clients (internal or external) and share abundantly with those who would benefit.

Increasingly we find that when we hold ourselves accountable, we realize our potential. That’s why OWN IT is another Core Value. We empower people to do what they need to do; we trust their judgment and support their decisions so that they can stand by them and take ownership. We’re not perfect, and we own it. That fuels our intensity and dedication to go above and beyond and take initiative in a proactive way. We’re not ok with waiting around for other people to make things better. It’s on us.

In our business, how much you know and how fast you can learn has a direct impact on your success. That’s why ALWAYS LEARNING AND TEACHING is a Core Value. We’re grateful to be surrounded by professionals working to hone their craft. It’s why we’re in Public Accounting and not working in Private Accounting—because this is a technical field with an ever-changing landscape and requires a lot of dedication, persistence, and work to stay sharp. We also know that when we started, we didn’t know much about anything—someone took the chance on us to make us better. Someone gave us the attention we needed to pick up the right skills. That’s why we’re so invested in paying it forward. We firmly believe that asking questions is critical to learning, so we work to create an environment where curiosity is rewarded and celebrated.

In our profession, always doing the right thing is critical for the success of our clients. That’s why ACT WITH INTEGRITY AND ETHICS is a Core Value. As accounting professionals, we have a code of ethics that we abide by, and as human beings who believe in a higher power, we have a code of morality that we aspire to. At GEMRT, we put God first, Family second, and GEMRT third, so being honest, respectful, and dutiful is our bedrock. To use an analogy: just as a building relies on its structural integrity to stay standing, GEMRT relies on its cultural integrity to keep growing.

We are keen to grow not in spite of our values, but because of them. They are our guardrails and our fuel. Here everyone has a voice, from intern to partner. Grateful for our success and recognizing that we are never successful alone, we always strive to make our people our priority.
