Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory seeks a seasoned IT/AI professional to integrate AI capabilities into wargaming and simulation environments. You will translate operational requirements into technical specifications and present constraints back to non-technical stakeholders.

This role requires strong communication and collaboration with sponsors, data scientists, and engineers. You will evaluate AI/ML tools, develop technical requirements, and guide development efforts while ensuring alignment with

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years direct/relevant professional experience or higher per Level 2/3 criteria.
  • Current US Citizenship with DOE 'Q' and 'SCI' clearance or equivalent required; on-site Ft. Belvoir, VA.
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and recommend AI/ML tools and approaches to enhance wargame simulations, scenario modeling, and data analysis.
  • Support the design, development, and integration of AI-enabled capabilities into wargaming platforms and tools.
  • Gather, document, and refine business requirements from government sponsors and subject matter experts.
  • Develop technical requirements, system documentation, and architecture diagrams to guide development efforts.
  • Coordinate with developers, data scientists, and engineers to ensure solutions align with mission needs.
  • Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of AI and IT systems used in exercise environments.
  • Communicate with key collaborators to determine portfolio, program, and project requirements and objectives.
  • Confer with portfolio, program, and project personnel to identify and resolve problems.
  • Create portfolio, program, and project status presentations for delivery to customers, sponsors, and other collaborators.
  • Provide guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems- or process-related topics.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
