Job summary

Story Co in the SF Bay Area seeks an AI/VFX Generalist who blends strong compositing with hands-on use of generative tools. You will create, integrate, and refine visual effects across projects, leveraging AI where it improves results.

You will work closely with directors, editors, and motion designers, applying technical skill and creative judgment to each frame. Base salary is $100,000–$130,000, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating VFX and compositing across multiple styles.
• Proficiency in After Effects, Nuke, or Blender.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI tools (Runway, Sora, ComfyUI).
• Based in SF Bay Area or willing to relocate.
• Ability to complete a trial project.

Responsibilities

• Composite and integrate VFX elements across project types.
• Use AI tools to support cleanup, generation, and image enhancement.
• Create assets with generative video and image tools when needed.
• Collaborate with directors, editors, and motion designers throughout post-production.
• Evaluate emerging tools and recommend improved approaches.
• Keep files organized and manage workflow through final delivery.
