Job summary

Story in San Francisco seeks an AI/VFX Generalist who blends strong compositing with hands-on generative tools to craft visuals across diverse projects.

You will collaborate with directors, editors, and motion designers, evaluate new AI approaches, and manage files through final delivery. Relocation to the SF Bay Area is supported; degrees are not required as your reel speaks for you.

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio demonstrating VFX and compositing across multiple styles.
• Proficiency in After Effects, Nuke, and/or Blender.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI tools such as Runway, Sora, or ComfyUI.
• Ability to complete a trial project.
• Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate.
• Degrees not required. Your work speaks for itself.

Responsibilities

• Composite and integrate VFX elements across different project types and visual styles.
• Use AI tools to support cleanup, generation, and image enhancement.
• Create assets with generative video and image tools when the project calls for them.
• Collaborate with directors, editors, and motion designers throughout post-production.
• Evaluate emerging tools and recommend approaches that improve the work.
• Keep files organized and manage your workflow through final delivery.
