Job summary

TEKsystems in Durham, NC, seeks a Software Test Engineer to join our Quality Management team on a contract-to-hire basis. The role focuses on developing and executing comprehensive test plans, automation scripts, and AI-supported quality practices to ensure reliable UI and services and a robust release cycle.

Responsibilities include automated/manual testing across API/SDK/Web apps, building AI-assisted testing workflows, and collaborating with engineering to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 1+ years software development or 3+ years automated software testing experience, preferably with Visual Studio and REST/SOAP.
• Experience with automated test tools: Visual Studio, Selenium, SQL queries, Eclipse IDE.
• Experience with API/SDK/Web Applications and Services testing, including static reviews, unit, module, performance, load testing.
• ISTQB CTFL or AI-related certification preferred; Agile Test/Development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and execute automated and manual tests within Agile teams for API/SDK/Web Applications and Services.
• Create and execute test cases, update defects, tasks, and reports; retest issues.
• Collaborate with engineering to design and deliver quality software, including automation tools and AI-supported testing workflows.
• Use approved AI tools to accelerate testing activities like test case generation, data ideation, and defect summaries.
• Create, configure, and maintain AI agents/workflows for QA activities, ensuring security and governance alignment.
• Continuously learn and apply AI capabilities relevant to testing, automation, and productivity.
• Provide estimates, status reports, and training materials to support QA workflows.
